Julayi review

This is another typical commercial flick with heavy doses of comedy, foot tapping mass songs, aggressive punch dialogs, a dashing young hero, a slim eye-candy and a villain who isn’t as menacing as expected. There is a small twist thrown into the mix as well.

The reason for the animosity between the villain and the hero is the latter being the reason for the villain’s brother’s death. Our hero also spoils the villain’s carefully laid out bank robbery plans.

Logic goes for a huge toss particularly in the interval block action which is absurd to say the least. This particular episode is the worst low in Julayi. The VFX is also laugh worthy for this particular action block.

Allu Arjun is the charismatic boy next door who dazzles in dance and shows more brawn and a little brain as well. His dialogs impress the masses in a big way.

The film has a plethora of comedians, led by Brahmanandam, who aid the movie in a big way. Sonu Sood is reduced to a mere caricature in the climax. That said, his looks are terrific.

Ileana impresses in the scenes when she wears western attires but in the scenes when she wears salwars, she resembles a stick. Her romance track with Allu is enjoyable thanks to the inherent comedy.

DSP’s songs are the biggest highlight. Each song entertains the masses

To conclude, this movie would be a winner at the box-office in all probability and Allu Arjun fans would enjoy it particularly.

PS: I saw the movie with nil knowledge of Telugu and this review is purely based on the way the movie was received by the masses in the theater.
