Thadaiyara Thaakka review

Selva, a self-made entrepreneur who has a travels business gets stuck up with the 2 most dreaded gangsters in Chennai city - Maha and his brother Kumar. He is chased and hounded by the goons for an act that he hasn't committed.

How he gets out of this mess with a combination of brawn and brain is what Thadaiyara Thaakka is about. There is also a suspense behind who is the actual perpetrator of the crime.

Selva has a nice mature romance with Priya and he has his gang of close friends. There aren't many songs, just 2 of them, and both are on the mark. Thaman's BGM adds to the grip and thrill quotient of the movie. His theme music has bee aptly used in the movie to increase the tension.

Arun Vijay is as fit as they come and turns in a very understated performance. He is among the most well equipped heroes in town. Sad, luck isn't on his side. Mamta Mohandas looks mature and well endowed. She comes out with a good show. Rakul Preet Singh's character has a lot of weight. The 2 goons, Maha and Kumar (Maha Gandhi and Vamsi Krishna) are the biggest pluses in the movie. They are menacing and believable as the cold blooded villains who have no sense of humanity. The suspense element in the movie could have been made more tense given the terrific buildup.

VERDICT: Thrilling and tense action entertainer.
