Brave review

Princess Merida is a very spirited and brave young woman. She doesn't wish to get married as per her mother Fergus' wishes. All the prospective grooms from the 3 clans in the kingdom are as dumb as they come. She approaches a witch for a spell that would change her mother's mind about her marriage. But the spell goes horrid and the mother is turned into a bear.

Father Fergus is dying for revenge against a bear which costed him one of his legs. Now Merida has to make sure her mother comes back to her actual form before the spell becomes permanent. She uses her bravery, skill, presence of mind and her love for her mother to make sure all is well in the end.

There are adequate doses of fun, laughter and nice sentiments too, making it a wholesome experience.

Merida has been modeled very beautifully with cute features and sparkling red hair. Her voice is totally British. The 3 young kids are the biggest cuties in the movie. They are naughty and adorable. Fergus looks weird with a huge body and a disfigured face. The queen looks beautiful. Bears have a prominent presence in the movie.

All the voice artists give life to the characters. As expected, the animation is top notch. Disney Pixar never fail to deliver on quality animation. The locations shown in the movie are dreamy and surreal. To make the most complex visuals possible, Pixar completely rewrote their animation system for the first time in 25 years. It is also the first movie ever to use the Dolby Atmos sound format.

The movie ends with a nice message and Steve Jobs is credited as well.

VERDICT: Will appeal to the kid in every human being. Some light hearted fun.
